The Marquart Fund exists for the purpose of providing material and financial support to The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haiti and her fledgling seminary, Concordia Theological Seminary - Haiti. 

At the request of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haiti, The Kurt Marquart Fund has expanded its role in providing resources for the ELCH and her seminary.

KMF is a 100% volunteer organization. With our expanded role, we need [ahem] more volunteers! To learn about volunteer opportunities with KMF, click here
 

What Items Are Needed?
 

Most important item:

• Food in pop-top cans

Also needed:

• protein-rich foods, like peanut butter, rice and beans

• bottled water

• dishwashing liquid

• soap

• antibiotic ointment

• bed sheets

• washcloths

• shovels

• 5 gallon buckets

Sean Burns, the Store Director of Winn Dixie at the corner of Bloomingdale & John Moore, will make cases of pop-top cans available.

And, he has great prices available for many of the most-needed items.

Mr Burns has notified us that he can provide palletized items for between $12 and $24 per case.

Where Do I Take My Donations?
 

We have a collection area, packed food section, unpacked food section, and packing area in the Fellowship Hall, which is next to the school office.

Our collection days and times are:

• Monday from 6:30 pm - 8 pm
• Saturday from 8 am - 10 am

You can bring your donations to the Hall or to the church office at any time during the day.

You may take your cash donations to the church office.  Members are encouraged to use the offering plates for their donations.

We will need a number of volunteers over the next couple months for the following duties:

• Packing (See Coordinators Debbie and Julie Haver or call them thru the church office)

• Organizing and packing items

• Transporting items or picking up food in the area (See Coordinator Don Craig)

• Distributing flyers to businesses


• Collecting food on Saturday mornings from 8am-10am for community drop-off.

• Assisting people dropping off items and helping them unload their vehicles.

If you can help with any of these duties please be specific and e-mail the church office or sign up in the breezeway.
