| Synopsis |
Many people believe that Christianity is
about “being good,” doing good works for God, and trying to please him to
assure a place in heaven. The parable of the “workers” in the vineyard in
Matthew 20 teaches us that salvation depends on God’s work in Jesus and
clearly answers the question: “Is Christianity About Being Good or Is It
About Something Else?” |
“Your Way or God’s Way?”
Often, we want God our way, on our terms, and
in our own time. In Matthew 21, Jesus speaks to the church leaders (and
to us) when he reminds them that authority is not taken but given. |
“I
want a church …. that Has A Dynamic Pastor … Friendly People ... Or, One
That Preaches Christ Crucified” ...
When we look for characteristics of a church that miss the true message
of Jesus – a dynamic pastor, entertaining worship, or charismatic people
– we miss the most important message: who is Jesus and what has He done?
In the parable of the leaseholders, we get a clear understanding of
“Thinking about the Son.” |
“Are You Prepared To die?”
We spend a lot
of time preparing for things in this life and not enough time preparing
for the next life. The parable of the wedding banquet shows us the
importance of “preparing to die.” |
“Is
There Truth?” There are many opinions in the world today about truth. In
Matthew 22, Jesus identifies his truth as eternal.

its original identity. |
